Most test prep web sites are filled with talk about tests, schools, options, and various ways to attract the faith and money of your parents (or your college counselor), but they never address the most important people involved in this whole process: you, the students.
We wanted to dedicate this page to students, and hopefully help you make a decision about what you'd like to do about your test prep. After all, you are ultimately responsible for your own education, you will be sitting through the classes or tutoring, you will take the test, and it is your future that is staked to the overall experience and the results.
Cambridge Accelerated believes that test prep should not automatically be painful and boring, just because the subject material (at first glance) appears uninteresting. Now, we're not saying there will never be a dull moment, because there will be some here and there, but we promise to keep things as interesting as possible. We feel it's important to keep students engaged with the learning process, in an effort to significantly improve their scores. We also believe improvement is always interesting, whether you're dealing with sports, art, hobbies, or test scores.
So what exactly is boring?
1. Doing a bunch of work and not seeing any significant payoff in results.
2. Doing a bunch of work and not understanding the purpose of the work.
3. Doing a bunch of work, understanding why you are doing it, but not understanding how it relates to anything else beyond the SAT or ACT.
4. Doing a bunch of work.
So, here's what Cambridge Accelerated offers you, the student, that's different:
1. You will learn lessons that have far greater interest, meaning, and scope than mere test-taking strategies. By blending elements of arts & entertainment, philosophy, psychology, sports, and high-stakes situations, Cambridge Accelerated transforms test prep into an engaging and informative process that will both keep your interest and impart skills that will carry forward beyond the SAT and ACT.
2. You will see the results of your work reflected in your score increases.
3. You will not be assigned work that has no purpose.
4. Your individual input will be valued, whether you take a class or do private tutoring.
5. The studying process will be kept as swift and engaging as possible.
6. You will feel prepared and confident taking the test.
We hope this will help you to make the right decision, and we look forward to working with you in the near future!
